The bright lights... the stardom...the big bucks...no -
working thru the night...rebuilding...testing...rebuilding---Yes!

And it is all great fun!
Marlin Racing competes in the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club series all round the UK. Starting in 2001 with a BSA Bantam (which never actually managed more than 2 slow laps, but started about 5!) something had to change, and the BSA was gracefully retired and replaced on track by a 1968 Ducati 250 Mk3. Finishing the season parading to learn the tracks, the bike underwent a major rebuild over the winter to start racing proper in 2002.
On the Ducati 250 at Mallory, 2002. This was a good track for the 250, apart from getting the shakes going into the sweeping Gerards Bend, which restricted the entry speed
At the end of 2002 a 1967 Ducati 350 was added to the garage and both bikes were campaigned during 2003. After struggling to make the 250 competitive (a big rider doesn't help!), it was sold on mid-season, to be replaced with a very different machine - a Yamaha TZ350 fitted with a road-based, highly tuned RD350LC engine. This bike was built in 1984 for the TT Formula II and competed in the Manx TT in 1984 & 1985.
